Eileen Bolstad

Madison - Eileen G. Bolstad, age 90, passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 at Oakwood Village West in Madison. She was born on November 20, 1925 to Nels and Anna (Knutzen) Andersen in Dunlap, Iowa. Eileen was united in marriage to Ingman Olaf Bolstad on December 21, 1946. She was a resident of Madison for the past 52 years, after moving from Gilman, Wisconsin and the family's dairy farm. After a brief teaching career, Eileen was a homemaker. After their retirement, Ingman and Eileen split their time between Madison and Gilman, enjoying the woods, making maple syrup and gardening. Eileen was an active volunteer in several organizations including Oakwood Village, Meals on Wheels, and Wisconsin Public Television and particularly at Advent Lutheran Church where she was involved in women's support groups, community gardening, and quilting.

Eileen is survived by her children, Naomi (Bennett) Kuhn, Ardis (Rand) Methfessel, Carl (Carol Jean Schnier), and Peter (Linda Hinderscheit); four grandchildren, Cecilia Thomson, Sam Kuhn, Susan Bolstad and Elizabeth Bolstad; three great-grandchildren, Mady Thomson, Ben Thomson and Jayden Kai Debruzzi; sister, Joanna Goltz; and many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; and brother, Hans.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 21, 2016 at ADVENT LUTHERAN CHURCH / MADISON CHRISTIAN COMMUNITY, 7118 Old Sauk Road, Madison, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Advent Lutheran Church, Mission Endowment Fund, 7118 Old Sauk Road, Madison, WI 53711; or a charity of your choice.
