Mary Lou Parker, age 79, of Waunakee, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at Agrace in Fitchburg, WI. She was born on January 8, 1942 in Madison, the daughter of Walter L. Wallace and Sarah O. Halvorson.  Mary was the second oldest of four children and loved all of her siblings dearly. Mary graduated from Madison Central High School in 1960. She married Terry L. Parker on July 31, 1965, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison, WI.  She and Terry had two boys whom she was very proud of and spent many years volunteering for the Madison Scouts as a seamstress and cook. She was a long-time employee of the University of Wisconsin as a technical typist and administrative assistant until she retired in 2003.  She enjoyed singing, playing, and listening to music and shows, card-playing with friends and family, trips to casinos, and bragging about her three grandchildren who lit up her life.

The world lost a truly kind person -- she always put others first, and the family will miss her influence and love. Although she struggled with challenging sight issues, she enjoyed conversations with friends, family and new acquaintances and tried diligently to stay up-to-date with Facebook goings-on.

Left to honor Mary and remember her love are her husband, Terry, her two children, Brian (Jennifer) Parker, and Brad (Lori) Parker, three grandchildren, Nicholas, Jacob, and Katie Parker, her brother Phil (Janet) Wallace, and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sisters Sharon and Donna.

A service to honor her life and memories will be held on Thursday, June 17 at Winn-Cress Funeral Home (Waunakee) with a visitation and greeting from 9:30 am to 11:00 am. The memorial service begins at 11:00 am, and will follow with a luncheon at Rex’s Innkeeper in Waunakee where we will also honor her sister Donna who didn’t get a proper service due to the pandemic.
