San Tan Valley, AZ/Fitchburg – Richard James Lettman, age 84 passed away on Monday, October 25, 2021, at his home in Arizona from Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was born on June 7, 1937, in Madison, the son of George and Emma (Kuchar) Lettman of Highland, WI. Richard was united in marriage to Jeaneen Achammer on June 3, 1961. Richard farmed with his father until he joined the Air Force in 1955. He served 4 years active duty in Korean War as a Hydraulic Specialist and (4) years inactive duty. Richard was a watchmaker, and salesman at Condon Jewelers until 1965. He then became a sales rep for Nabisco, followed by a sales rep for Nestle Company for 25 years. After retirement from Nestle, Richard work full-time as a security guard for Fenske, then for the University of Wisconsin Department of Technology, and after his second retirement, he worked part-time as a crossing guard for Chavez Elementary School. Richard enjoyed his friends, family, playing cards, and building model airplanes.
Richard is survived by his wife, Jeaneen Lettman; Sons Michael (Sheri) of Arizona, and Mark of Florida; Grandchildren, Spencer, Morgan, and Molly Lettman of Arizona, and Step-grandchildren, Lacy, and Simon Piper of Arizona; as well as Sisters, Florence Alton (Madison), Lynn Condon (Florida). He is further survived by other friends, nieces, and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his Parents; Sisters, Francis Moore (Iowa), and Dorothy France (Ridgeway); Brothers, Ralph (Beaver Dam), and Roy Lettman (Highland).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, on Friday, November 5, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Msgr. Larry Bakke presiding. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Dane County Humane Society, Our Lady Queen Of Peace, or Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E. Flower Street, Phoenix,AZ 85014.
