Adam Steven Griggel, age 38, of Sun Prairie, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at his home in Sun Prairie, WI.
He was born August 26, 1983, in Berlin, WI, the son of Steven and Angela Weiske Griggel. Adam graduated from Sheboygan South High School in 2002 and attended UW-Eau Claire for criminal justice.
Adam became a father in 2012 to his son, Lincoln. He enjoyed taking Lincoln on all of his adventures with him, while teaching him many life lessons along the way. Adam later married his current wife, Amy in 2020. Together, they shared three children, Isabelle Lorentz, Lincoln Griggel, and Gracie Lorentz. He loved being a father and his family became his pride and joy.
Adam was a caring, funny, outgoing person who was always eager to help others. While a freshman in college, Adam contracted meningitis, which ultimately led to the amputation of his leg. Not once did he ever let that stop him from doing things and this only amplified his desire to give back to others in the amputation community. He always tried to find ways to help others in every aspect of life. Adam loved everything about the outdoors. He enjoyed taking his son on camping trips, hunting, spending time outdoors, and was always up for a new adventure.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Griggel; son, Lincoln Griggel; “bonus” daughters, Isabelle and Gracie Lorentz; mother, Angie Griggel, father in-law and mother in-law, Alan & Lyn Coates; brother, Andy (Anna) Griggel; sister in-law Laura (Brett) Holmertz; brother-in-law, Matt Coates; along with many other family and friends.
Adam was preceded in death by his father, Steven Griggel; birth mother, Sherry Griggel; sister, Jennifer Griggel; grandparents, Ken (Marcie) Weiske, Don (Mitzi) Griggel, and Betty Fuller; and uncle, Paul Weiske.
A gathering of family and friend will take place on from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Cress Funeral Home, SUN PRAIRIE with a memorial service to follow at 1:00 pm, and a gathering to celebrate Adam’s life immediately following the service.
