Adam Gutt

Adam J. Gutt, age 43, of Madison, WI. passed away on Sunday February 12, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.  Adam was born on January 8, 1980 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI., the son of Larry and Marcia (Johnson) Gutt.  He graduated from Waupaca High School in 1998, and attended Winona State University in Minnesota where he received his Associate Degree.  He graduated from UW Oshkosh in December 2003 with a BSN.  He worked for 18 years at UW Hospital in Madison as an O.R. nurse as part of the general surgery team.  He was loved and admired by his many coworkers over that time.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life Caitlyn Knuteson on January 14, 2022.  Adam enjoyed many things throughout his life.  He was an avid runner and cross-country skier, a passionate disc golfer, competing and placing in many tournaments over the years. He and Caitlyn enjoyed exploring hiking trails all over the state with their dog Dublin, and spending time at the family cabin on the Wolf River.  Adam had a great sense of humor and was a gifted storyteller.

Adam is survived by his wife Caitlyn Knuteson; his parents, Larry and Marcia Gutt; his brother Ryan Gutt and sister-in-law Amy Fisher; nieces Olivia and Rowan Gutt; aunts and uncles: Linda and Steve Allie, Betty Krolow, Dan and Marsha Johnson and Jim Johnson; many cousins and countless friends and co-workers.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Emma and Leo Roehl, Arnold Gutt, maternal grandparents Donald and Evelyn Johnson.

There will be a celebration of life at OLD SUGAR DISTILLERY, the Rickhouse Room at 931 E. Main St. Madison, WI on February 25, 2023 from 2:00-5:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial will be directed towards purchasing a bench that will be placed at Adam’s favorite disc golf course.

Thank you to the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Agrace HospiceCare for the wonderful care provided to Adam.  Also thank you to all the Doctors, Surgeons and Nurses at the UW Hospital.
