Madison -- Adeline L. Herrling (Hanusa), age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at HospiceCare after suffering a stroke 3 hours earlier in her apartment at Inglewood in Mt. Horeb. Her loving family was by her side. Adeline was born November 28, 1919 to August and Bertha (Reich) Hanusa. On June 19, 1937 she married Wilbert Herrling at St. Luke's in Middleton. Together they raised three children: Richard ""Dick"", Thomas, and Barbara. Adeline and Wilbert owned and operated Herrling Metal and Heating Company for 25 years, until retirement. In the fall of 2008, Adeline moved to an apartment at Inglewood Assisted Living in Mt. Horeb so she could be close to Wilbert who was a resident of Ingleside Nursing Home. She loved it so much that she decided to stay after Wilbert's passing in October 2008. She loved all the wonderful staff and the companionship of the residents. Adeline was a member of Luther Memorial Church in Madison. Adeline is survived by her son, Thomas (Jean) of Cross Plains. In addition, she is survived by seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Kathy (Mike) Martin of Madison and their children, Nicole and Paige. Deanne Bullock of Cambridge and her children, Joshua, Stephanie, and Madelyn. Tom Jr. of Middleton and his children, Whitnee, Jordann and Sydnee. Larry (Pam) Bowen of Lexington, NC. Susan (Jay) Smith of Middleton and their children, Brandon, Connor and Nolan. Lynda (Richardo) Zambrano of Gilbert, AZ and their son, Xavier. Carrie Herrling of Los Angeles, CA. Adeline is further survived by her brother, Rev. Ralph (Doris) Hanusa of Oshkosh; her sister, Pearl Jung of Madison; and a daughter-in-law, Lynn Barlow of Deerfield. Adeline was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 71 years, Wilbert; and her two children, Dick and Barbara. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank all the staff at Inglewood and the exceptional individual support and care provided by the Hospice social workers and nurses.
