Fitchburg / Sun City, AZ / Randolph - Adeline M. Thompson (formerly Jones), age 91, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at Sylvan Crossings in Fitchburg, WI. She was born on October 27, 1924 to William and Julie Rupnow in Columbia County, WI.
Adeline graduated from Brandon High School in 1940. Adeline was united in marriage to William R. Jones in October of 1944. Together they farmed in Columbia County where they raised their six children. They moved to Cambria in 1977. William preceded her in death in 1978. Adeline worked as a Physical Therapist Aide at Divine Savior Hospital in Portage until retirement in 1982. Later in 1982, she married Charles Koepke of Rosendale,WI., and he preceded her in death. In her retirement, Adeline traveled throughout the United States and settled in the Sun City AZ area in 1993. She married Grafton Thompson of El Mirage, AZ in 1993, and he preceded her in death. In 2002, Adeline married William Banks of Sun City, AZ. They were married for ten years. She then moved to Fitchburg to be closer to family.
Adeline, while living in AZ, was an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sun City where she sang in the choir. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crafts, sewing, gardening, learning to play the piano, and being active in 4-H with her children.
Adeline is survived by her children, Dale (Malinda) Jones of Terre Haute, IN, Carol (Dan) Pruess of Madison, Glen (Kari Myrland) Jones of Fitchburg, John (Linda) Jones of Mason, MI, Thomas Jones of Elkins Park, PA, and Beth (Charles Christiansen) Jones of Rochester, MN; her grandchildren, Bryan (Kim) Jones (their children, Brandon and Logan) of Clinton, IN, Gregory (Kathy) Jones (their children, Matt, Chance and Drake) of Island Lake, IL, Katharyn Jones of Holland, MI, Robert, Amy and Adam Jones all of Mason, MI, Julie (Jake Salzman) Pruess of Verona, and Logan Pruess of Madison; sister, Alyce Sennhenn of Eau Claire, WI. She was preceded in death by three husbands; brothers, Eugene Rupnow and William Rupnow; sister, Marcella McElroy; and an infant son, William.
The family wishes to thank the Sylvan Crossings staff for their wonderful and compassionate care.
An intimate Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at CRESS CENTER, 6021 University Avenue, with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
