Adolph Auerbach

March 31, 1922 — May 20, 2013

Sun Prairie - Adolph F. Auerbach, age 91, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2013 at Oakwood Knoll/Meadows. He was born on March 31, 1922 in Wausau, Wisconsin the son of Adolph F. Sr and Amanda (Sternberg) Auerbach. Adolph proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII. On September 10, 1943, he was united in marriage with LaVerne Piehl. For many years, Adolph worked for General Telephone Company, now known as Verizon, working in many craft and managerial positions until his retirement in 1984. He then fulfilled his boyhood dream of building a cabin in the woods to share with his wife and children near Presque Isle, Wisconsin. Adolph loved traveling with his family, woodworking in his shop and filling his life with his photographs. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Adolph is survived by his two children; Jim (Gail Louise) Auerbach of Sun Prairie and Diane (Daniel) Brandt of Eau Claire, five grandchildren; Rebecca (Joel) Tiege of Madison, Benjamin Auerbach of Edina, MN, Paul (Sarah) Brandt, John Brandt all of Eau Claire and Laura (fianc� Ken Byrnes) Brandt of Duluth, MN and six great grandchildren; Abraham and Zinnia Tiege; Brooke, Kimberly, Cayden, and Logan Brandt.

He is also survived by many other loving family and friends. Adolph was preceded in death by his parents, wife LaVerne in 2008, two sisters and a brother.

Funeral services will be held at BETHLEHEM LUTHERAN CHURCH, 300 Broadway St., Sun Prairie on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at 11:00 am with Reverend Steven Vera officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30am until the time of services. A luncheon and fellowship will follow Adolph's funeral at the church. Private burial will be held at a later date at Birnamwood Cemetery in Birnamwood, WI. Memorials may be made in memory of Adolph to NAMI-Wisconsin
(A grassroots organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for those affected by mental illness.)
