Agnes L. Green

September 19, 1926 — November 9, 2010

Agnes L. Green, age 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Evansville Manor.   She was born in Dunnville, WI on September 19, 1926, a daughter of James and Martha (Fagerlind) Johnston.   On December 21, 1946, she was united in marriage to George Green in St. Paul, MN.   Agnes and George moved to Stoughton in 1950, where Agnes worked at Uniroyal for 40 years, as well as working with George at the Stationery House.   Agnes was very involved in the Stoughton community with the Jaycettes, and Lioness organizations, as well as the Syttende Mai Festival, of which Agnes and George were Queen and King in 1993.   Agnes taught Rosemaling to several hundred students over 25 years, and was proud of helping to keep the craft alive in this area.   Agnes and George enjoyed traveling all over, especially to Mexico.   Agnes is survived by a granddaughter, Renee (Brian) West, Stoughton; a great-grandson, Arthur West; a brother, Eugene (Janice) Johnston, Evansville; a sister-in-law, Joyce Johnston, Eau Claire; nephews, Scott (Michelle) Johnston, Hampshire, IL, Kurt (Marla) Johnston, Loves Park, IL, Gary (Barb) Johnston, Eau Claire, Craig Johnston, Tracy, CA, Steve Kittleson, Eau Claire, and Michael (Jeanne) Kittleson, Altoona; and a niece, Suzanne (Doug Mell) Kittleson, Eau Claire.   She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband George; daughter, Shirley Zerbel; sister, Jeanne Kittleson; and brother, Edward Johnston.   Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00 am at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral home in Stoughton with the Rev. Bill Wineke officiating.   The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Friday the 12th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, and again on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service.
