Cottage Grove

Alan “Bo” Bomkamp, age 64, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024.  Bo, as he was affectionately known, was born in Milwaukee on June 2, 1959 to Delbert and Colleen (Haney) Bomkamp.  He was a Sun Prairie graduate, Class of 1977.  After devoting over 25 years of service, Bo retired from Bachmann Construction.

Bo was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching and attending many races.  He also had a passion for camping, hunting, fishing, and a good game of pool. He was also known to bowl on a league for a few seasons. He was a skilled carpenter and always loved wood-working projects.  He especially liked hanging out with his friends at the Outpost and the Black Bear in Cottage Grove.

It was hard to be angry around him because he always had such a different approach and view of different situations.  Bo had a big heart and was always able to give good advice.

Bo is survived by his wife and best friend, Diane, of Cottage Grove; sons Matthew and Richard Bomkamp, both of Madison; step-son James Bailey of Madison; sisters Linda Stangl (Tom) and their son Brock, and Darcy Euclide (Dave) and their children Chadd, Sydni, and Aidan; and many other relatives and dear friends.

At Bo's request, there will not be a funeral service. Friends are invited to a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at the Outpost Bar and Grill, 227 South Main Street, Cottage Grove, WI 53527 to gather and reminisce. Bo was a special guy and will be dearly missed.
