Alan Zobel

McFarland- Alan E. Zobel, age 58, passed away on Thursday April 11, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born to Eugene and Sofie Zobel on June 9, 1954. Alan was the middle of three brothers.
He graduated from Santiago High School in Garden Grove, CA. Alan pursued higher education at Santa Ana College, San Francisco State, and University of Nebraska-Kearney. After a 28-year career in broadcasting, Al changed professions and began working for Mass Mutual Financial Group as a financial planner. Al never met a golf course he didn't like, although he was more particular about his scotch and cigars. Al also loved working in the garden, cooking, home brewing, and reading.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Adriana; son, Garrett; daughter, Kathryn; cousin, Judie Davies and family of Portland, OR; brother Pete and family of Riverside, CA and brother Steve of Damascus, MD, mother-in-law Sally Salmon of Ridgefield CT, sister-in-law Debi DeClercq and family of Ridgefield, CT, sister-in-law Rebecca Bell of Whidbey Island, WA, and we can't forget his two yellow labs Abby and Daisy. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his Aunt, Jo Davies.
A Celebration of Al's Life will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Cress Funeral Home in McFarland, with a reception to follow. Memorials may be made to Gio's Garden, 2028 Parmenter Street, Middleton, WI, 53562.
We would like to thank all the friends, family and medical staff that supported Al through his 10 month battle with brain cancer.
