Alana Rose Whitmore was born to enteral life at 3:14am on February 26, 2019. Born at 32 weeks, she weighed 4 pounds 1 ounce and was 18 inches long. "Sometimes, it's the smallest things that take up the most room in our hearts."
Although Alana never spent any time with us on Earth, she was very loved and touched many lives. "There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world."
"Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not." She is survived by her parents, Kim and Corey Whitmore, two loving big brothers, Quentin and Christian Whitmore; grandparents Ken and Rose Nelson and Cythina and Charles Whitmore, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Alana will always remain her parents' precious baby girl and Quentin and Christian's little sister. They will hold her again in heaven one day.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Unity Point Meriter Hospital for the incredible care provided to Alana, Kim, and the entire family. While there was no way to save Alana, the doctors saved Kim's life and the nurses saved her soul.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, March 8, 2019 at First United Methodist Church, 203 Wisconsin Ave, Madison, WI 53703 with a service to begin at 11:00 am. A luncheon at the church will follow services. Alana will be laid to rest in Babyland at Highland Memory Gardens during a private family burial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a future fund that will be created in Alana's memory to help raise awareness about placenta abruption and support grieving families.

"This was a life that had hardly begun
No time to find your place in the Sun
No time to do all you could have done
But we loved you enough for a lifetime."
