Madison - Alberta Angeline Johnson (Felly), was called to her Lord on Sunday, May 27th, surrounded by her loving family. Alberta was a lifelong resident of Madison. She was born August 29, 1919 to Lydia Felly (Schivitz) and Albert "Chili Al" Felly. She was a graduate of East High school class of 1939. She married her high school sweetheart, Verdine "Dean" Johnson in 1941, they had 62 wonderful years together. She was a homemaker most of her life and also worked at Felly's Flowers and Accents, and Gimbels/Marshall Fields, for many years. She enjoyed golfing at Nakoma Country Club, and bowling at Schwoegler Lanes. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed many hand crafts and was also a member of the Madison Lioness. She was affiliated with Luther Memorial Church most of her life. Alberta loved garage sales, Goodwill, and antiques, and had her own business called Depression Daze where she sold and bought many treasures. She had a special fondness for dolls and continued collecting them until she moved to Walnut Grove Assisted Living in DeForest. She was preceded in death by her husband, Verdine (2004); and brother, Carl. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Mann of Durand, MI, Julie Schutz of Sun Prairie, Janine Farmer (Mike) of Wildwood, MO, and Dean Johnson (Signe) of Edgerton; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Al Felly (Eadie) of Mineral Point, WI. A visitation will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Monday June 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. immediately followed by a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest, with a family service at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to thank her home caregivers and the staff at Walnut Grove and United Home Health Hospice for their compassion, support and care.
