Our family lost a dear father, grandfather, brother, and friend on December 25, 2010 at  age 88.  A true Madison native, Aldo grew up proud of his heritage as a resident of the Greenbush neighborhood.  He graduated from Madison West High School and went on to heroically serve his country in World War II with the US Army 70th Infantry Division ""Trailblazers"" from 1942 to 1946 as a medic deployed overseas serving in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.  He attended Brigham Young University while in the service and completed a degree from UW-Madison in chemistry.  He formulated paints as a long time employee of Mautz Paint before becoming employed as a State Patrol chemist, eventually branching out as an expert witness in alcohol analysis cases.  He was a brilliant man with a hardy laugh, and love for family plus anything outdoors and anything Italian.  He could often be heard singing a song from his heart, or seen with a tear in his eye.  He will be dearly missed by his children; Jim (Sue) and Patty (Keefe), his granddaughter, Amber, his brothers, Richard (Dorothy) and Robert (Delores) and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlo ""Charles"" and Pierina, his wife Frances and nephew Paul.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at GOOD SHEPHERD PARISH / ST JAMES PARISH, 1128 St James Ct. Madison, WI  53715, with Monsignor Thomas F. Baxter officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the time of service at church.  Thank you to all who helped care for him and made his days easier in any way large or small, especially Comfort Keepers, and the staff a the VA Hospital and Clinics.   Ciao bello !!
