Alice Burr

Madison - Alice Mae Burr (nee Kennison) age 93, entered Eternal Life with her Lord Jesus on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Alice was born in Madison on July 23, 1921 to the late Charles "Buck" Kennison and Mary Kennison (nee Dresen).
Before and during World War II, Alice worked for the Telephone Company. After the war when Lloyd Burr was discharged, they married and worked at Bastian and Blessing in Chicago, returning to Madison for the birth of their first born son, Charles, in 1947. She later worked for Madison General Hospital, Rennebohms, Montgomery Ward and retired from Madison Newspapers.

She is survived by her son Gregory (Theresa) Burr of Madison and grandchildren; Phillip (Amy) Burr, of Madison, Barbara Burr of Madison and John Burr of Verona, step-grandchildren; Samantha and Alex Ikner.

She was preceded in death by her son Charles and husband Lloyd.

Friends may join the family for a visitation at Cress Funeral Home (3610 Speedway Rd, Madison, WI) on Tuesday, April 21 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Alice will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery.
