They bought a cabin on Long Lake in northern Wisconsin, and enjoyed summers and vacations there for many years.   Alice was fond of boating and loved reading murder mysteries on the porch of the cabin where she could gaze out over the lake. She liked playing word games, dominos, and card games, especially Euchre. Her weekend plans often included shopping at antique shops, yard and garage sales, and flea markets. She collected frogs and lighthouses, liked to dance, and often sang while doing household chores. She was a country music fan; her favorite performer by far was Johnny Cash.
