Alison Lockridge

October 9, 1969 — April 14, 2016

MADISON

Alison Grace Lockridge, 46, of Madison, died at home early Thursday morning, April 14, 2016, due to complications from multiple sclerosis.

She was an artist, nature lover, and proud and loving mother to her son, Park Morrell Lockridge, 18, and daughter, Farren Nicole Lockridge, 13.

Alison was born October 9, 1969, in Bayfield, Wisconsin, before moving to Madison where she grew up and pursued her passion for art, from paintings on canvas, furniture, and every wall in her house, to beadwork and ceramic sculptures and masks. Her art was informed by her love of nature, her travels, and her appreciation for strong women.

She enjoyed travel in the US and Canada, and trips to London, Costa Rica, and Jamaica with her sisters. As a young woman, she took a Great American Road Trip by herself to visit national parks throughout the western US.

In 1995, she and her then-husband, Adrian Lockridge, spent six months in Cahuita, Costa Rica, before returning to Madison to raise their family. In 2011, she was able to introduce her children to international travel when they joined her in Panama during her stay to receive experimental treatment for MS.

In addition to her children and their father, she is survived by her mother, Thelma (Ewert) Wrobbel, her older sisters Annette Wrobbel of Minneapolis MN, Andrea (Jon Ong) Wrobbel and their son Duncan of Minneapolis, and extended family members and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Wrobbel.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave. in Madison. A reception will follow.
