Allan R. "Al" Adamski, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at home.
He was born on April 20, 1953 in Wausau, the son of Felix and Agnes (Schueller) Adamski. He graduated from Edgar High School in 1971 and from the University of Wisconsin Whitewater in 1975. He married his soulmate, Mary Schiferl on May 15, 1982 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish, Madison, where they have been members for 30 years.
For 29 years, Al was dedicated to his accounting career at Research Products Corporation holding positions of senior accountant, controller, and eventually corporate accounting manager. He retired in October 2010 so he could spend more time with his loving wife.
Being raised on a small farm in Edgar, Wisconsin, he grew up to be quite the handyman. He was frequently found doing various projects around the house and took pride in being the man who could fix just about anything. He enjoyed going for walks, golfing, attending Badger hockey games, traveling, donating blood and platelets, and taking care of his girls. He was a patient and caring family man who will be truly missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.
Al is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Beth and Katie (Jim Klug, fianc�); mother Agnes of Edgar; sisters Bev (Joe) Hildebrandt of Waunakee, Catherine of Orrington, ME, Darlene (Tony) Kramer of Appleton, and Evy (Dave) Deininger of Appleton; sisters-in-law Lisa Burgess of Schofield, Karen (David) Strauss of Fort Atkinson, Ann Schiferl of Jefferson, and Rita (Vince) Kruchten of Dane; brother-in-law Gary Schiferl of Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his twin sons Craig and Kevin; father Felix; and brother Fred.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE PARISH, 401 S. Owen Dr., with Monsignor Kenneth Fiedler officiating. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison. A Visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Monday November 14, 2011, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Red Cross or The American Cancer Society.
