Allan 'Sonny' Dahl

Stoughton- Allan ""Sonny"" Dahl, age 81, passed away on Tuesday, June 01, 2010.  He was born on December 16, 1928, the son of Almont and Inga (Eikland) Dahl.  Sonny graduated from Edgerton High School.  He enlisted in the Marines and served from 1945 until 1948.  Sonny retired as a Terminal Manager for the tank farms in McFarland.  On December 18, 1965 he married Mary Armstrong Lundgren at Cooksville Lutheran Church.  Sonny was a very active member of the Stoughton American Legion Post 59 Honor Guard, Covenant Lutheran Church and Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps.  Sonny is survived by his wife of 45 years, Mary; children, Susan (Mike) Vanderhyden, Kathy (Keith) Boeger, Steve (Penny) Lundgren, Mary Lee Leikness and Mark (Heather) Dahl; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Donald.  Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 4, 2010 at Covenant Lutheran Church, 1525 N. Van Buren Street, Stoughton, followed by Military Honors.  A lunch for family and friends will be held in the church Fellowship Hall.  Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, June 3, 2010 at church and from 10:00 AM until the time of service at church on Friday.  A special thank you to the staff of Skaalen Home and VA Hospital.
