Allen Tubbs

Janesville - Allen J. Tubbs, age 68, has gone on to join Waylon Jennings, he is currently waiting on Willie and the boys. He passed on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at his home in Janesville, WI. He was born on January 26, 1949, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, the son of Dwain and Marie (Kroner) Tubbs. Allen served in Army during the Vietnam War. Despite being born in North Dakota, Al was raised in Chicago where he began a lifetime love affair with all Chicago sports teams. With his three sons by his side, Al lived long enough to see his beloved Cubbies win it all in 2016. Al passed along his love of sports to his sons and was their biggest fan, never missing one of their games and the chance to cheer them on. His smile was never so bright as on Christmas morning when he presented a slew of gifts to his granddaughters along with stories of the North Pole and chats with Santa himself. Al was a true friend, always ready to help his neighbors however he could. He will live on in the beautiful plantings around his apartment he dedicated himself to every spring and summer. Where ever Al was, there was music and the smell of Swisher Sweets. He loved his family, Willie Nelson and inappropriate jokes.

He is survived by his sons, Aaron (Christy) Tubbs, Don (Natalie) Tubbs and Paul Tubbs; grandchildren, Emma, Giuliana , Jocelyn, Carly, and Vincent; brothers, Tom Tubbs, Bill (Barbara) Tubbs, David (Diane) Tubbs and Joseph (Angela) Tubbs; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Friday, July 7, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. A visitation will be held at the funeral home and on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

A celebration of life will be held immediately after at the Veterans of Foreign War Post 9362 of Sun Prairie, 349 S. Walker Way, Sun Prairie. All are welcome to attend, argue sports affiliations and toast a 'good timin' man' one last time.
