Amber Peterson

Oregon – Amber L. (Pautsch) Peterson, age 39, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2021, at UW Hospital in Madison following a brave battle with leukemia. She was born on January 8, 1982, in Columbus, Wisconsin to Lynn and Barbara (Wondra) Pautsch. Amber married Shaun Peterson on October 23, 2004, in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin.

Amber was loved by friends and family and she inspired many with her courage and tenacity. In health and in sickness, she made it her goal to be the best she could be and followed her mantra to get “stronger every day.”

Amber gave kindness to others throughout her career spanning 18 years with MTILP, Inc. caring for adults with disabilities. She also volunteered for various organizations helping whenever needed.

She is survived by her husband, Shaun Peterson; sons, Kaden and Dawson, step-daughter, Emily Skinner; her parents, Lynn and Barbara Pautsch, of Sun Prairie, mother-in-law, Cynthia Butler of Madison, grandparent, Lillian Wondra of Mayville; brothers Bryan (Kayla) Pautsch of Sun Prairie, Brenden (April) Pautsch of Cottage Grove, Joel (Amy) Wondra of Shawano, and Timothy (Beth) Pautsch of Campbellsport, sisters-in-law,  Ashley Sparks of Stoughton and Jazzmin Butler of Madison; nieces and nephews Emeri, Braxton, Gavin, Catilyn, Keegan, and Jessie Pautsch, Hallie and Brayden Wondra, Nickalas and Jonathon Gellings, and Shyne and Haven Sparks.

Amber was preceded in death by grandparents Earl Wondra, Forrest and Lorraine Pautsch, and Ivan and Sara Peterson.

The family wishes to give special thanks and recognition to Amber’s world-class team from UW-Hospital, who with their phenomenal care and treatment, kept her in the fight and gave her the best odds possible against this terrible disease.

A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICE, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Monday, January 18, 2021, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
