Waunakee- Andrew Henry Bernards of Waunakee passed away peacefully at Artisan Senior Living on October 16, 2013.
He was born on September 26, 1925 in Ashton, WI to William and Bernadine (Barman) Bernards. He worked on the family farm from childhood and later on as a factory worker at Graber's for 29 years. He loved his family, farm and Cub Cadet tractor.
Andrew is preceded in death by his wife and friend Sylvia Bernards, daughter Lisa, his parents William and Bernadine, brother Alois Bernards, sisters Lucille Valstad, Marianne Boley, brothers-in-law Roger Valstad, Curtis Boley, Boyd Opsal, and Louis Brings.
Andrew is survived by his children Deb (Al) Bernards, Allan (Ellen) Bernards, Lora (Chuck) Wilson, Jeff (Christine) Bernards, Rick (Judi) Bernards, Brian Bernards, Dawn (Greg) Helt, Troy Galston, and Roy (Julie) Bernards, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; two sisters Sybilla Opsal and Loretta Brings, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Monday October 21, 2013 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with a prayer service starting at 4:00pm at Winn-Cress Funeral Home, 5785 HWY Q, Waunakee, WI. 53597. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday October 22, 2013 at 11:00am at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 7121 County HWY K, Ashton, WI. 53562 with Father Brian Dulli officiating. Burial to follow in St. Peter's Cemetery.
