Madison/McFarland - Andrew Emjellem Jensen (a.k.a. Andrew J. O'Brien), age 21, passed away on March 25, 2015. He is survived by his mother, Jill Johnson, and stepfather, Joel Chapiewsky, of McFarland; sisters, Kari O'Brien and Laura Jensen, both of Minneapolis; sister, Christina O'Brien of Fitchburg; wonderful dogs, Lucky and Oliver; and a host of other friends and relatives who miss him terribly.
Andrew was a graduate of James Madison Memorial High School. A senior at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, Andrew majored in Economics and Scandinavian Studies and was preparing to graduate in May. While in college, he wrote for The Badger Herald, attended the International Summer School at University of Oslo for two summers, and recently completed an internship in Washington, D.C. with the Small Business Development Administration.
Andrew will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and his ability to live life to the fullest. He was a talented musician, artist, and writer. Andrew had a gift for languages; he was fluent in Norwegian and Portuguese and conversant in several others. Before his death, he was working out twice a day and studying to qualify for the Navy SEAL program.
A Life Celebration for Andrew will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Cress Funeral Home, 206 W. Prospect St., Stoughton, Wisconsin. Friends may greet the family from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday. Gifts in memory of Andrew E. Jensen can be made to the Mayo Clinic depression disease research program c/o Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 200 First Street SW, Rochester, MN 55905.
