Andrew Virnig

Waunakee- Andrew M. Virnig, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at the Columbus Community Hospital. He was born on August 13, 1933. Andrew was united in marriage with Carol Ann Abraham on July 29, 1971 in DeForest. He was a longtime resident of Waunakee and member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Waunakee. Andrew was honored to serve with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was a commercial painter who was a member of Painters Union #802. In his spare time he was an accomplished bowler. Andrew is survived by his wife of 40 years, Carol; his step daughter, Vicki; his brother, Tony Virnig; his sister, Esther (Tom) Ganser; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Mark. A private family memorial service will be held with Msgr. James Gunn presiding. Burial with full military honors provided by the Waunakee American Legion Post will be held in Sunset Memory Gardens, Madison.
