Angela Karen Zimmerman

FITCHBURG- Angela Karen Zimmerman, age 49, passed away at HospiceCare in Fitchburg due to complications of breast cancer. She was born in Madison, WI and attended West High School, UW-Platteville, MATC and Edgewood College, where she earned an Associate Degree in Commercial Art and a BA Degree in Elementary Education. She was on the dean's list at Edgewood and subsequently earned the Who's Who in American Education award. Angie was a member of Midvale Community Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School at both Bethel Lutheran Church and Midvale Community Lutheran Church. She was a first grade teacher at Glenn Stephens Elementary School in Madison, which she adored. She is survived by her beloved family: her dear twin sons, Samuel and Zachary; her parents, Robert and Beverly Zimmerman; and her sister, Barbara Zimmerman. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at both Glenn Stephens and Leopold Elementary School. Special thanks go to Jamie, CJ, Jess, Mary, Cheryl and Pastor Katie for their unending love, help and support given so selflessly. A celebration of Angie's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 21, 2009, at MIDVALE COMMUNITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4329 Tokay Blvd, Madison, with a visitation starting at 10:00 AM prior to the service.
