Anita P. Thorstad

Anita  (Prinz) Thorstad, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2009 at St. Mary's Care Center in Madison.   She was born on May 24, 1916, the daughter of Henry J. and Bertha R. (Ritter) Prinz in Brooklyn, New York.   She was united in marriage to Clarence J. Thorstad on September 5, 1936.   Anita found her greatest   pleasure in being a wife, mother and homemaker.   She was a Certified Master Bridge player, and an avid golfer, and past president of the Women's Organization of Nakoma Golf Club.  Anita was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church,  and also an active member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile, and Azba.    Anita is survived by her children; Ronald (Laureen) Thorstad, Madison, Diane (Steven) Price, Madison, Dawn (Craig) Beedy, Hartland, and John (Debbi) Thorstad, Madison, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, her parents, Henry and Bertha, a brother Herb, sister-in-law, Jean, brother-in law, Elmer, sister-in law Ida Mae, brother-in law Thorvald, and sister-in-law, Anita.   A Private Family Service will be held, followed with interment at Roselawn Memorial Park in Monona.   The family would like to thank the staff of St. Mary's Care Center for their loving and compassionate care.
