Anne E. Loper

Aurora, Colorado - Anne E. Loper, age 49, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2011 in Denver at the Parker Adventist Hospital of complications from an especially aggressive pneumonia. Anne was born December 20, 1961 in Madison, Wisconsin, the daughter of Carl and Jane (Loehning) Loper. Anne graduated from Madison West High School in 1980 and was an honors graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. She especially enjoyed working with children and taught preschool in Madison, elementary school in the Denver area, and tutored children privately. Anne also studied art in Denver, Colorado in order to pursue her interest in drawing and painting. She enjoyed music, crafts, theater, skiing, outdoor activities, and travel as well as time with her immediate and extended family. Faith was important to her and she participated in Bible studies and church activities.

Anne is survived by her mother, Jane (Loehning) Loper; her sister, Cynthia (Jeff) Koch of Aurora, Colorado; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Loper; maternal grandparents Louise and Gaylord Loehning; and paternal grandparents Valborg and Carl Loper.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr. in Madison with Msgr. Ken Fiedler presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 am until the time Mass. A luncheon at the church will follow. Entombment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. A memorial service in Denver will be scheduled at a later date.

Memorials in remembrance of Anne may be given to Project Angel Heart which delivers meals to adults and children coping with life threatening illness (4190 Garfield St., Unit 5, Denver CO 80216), or the Denver Parks and Recreation - Special Needs Program which provides therapeutic recreation programs (1849 Emerson St., Denver CO 80218).
