October 13, 1923 — December 8, 2011

ANNEMARIE Watson, age 88, passed away in her sleep on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at Wynwood Senior Living, after a terrible battle with Alzheimer's disease.
She was born on October 13, 1923 in Munich, Germany to Karl and Regina (Kindl) Fiehler. After graduating from high school, she studied business and banking. She spoke 4 languages.
After WWII, she worked as a secretary/interpreter at Erding Air Force Base, in the US- occupied zone of Germany. It was there that she met Carl Watson, whom she married in 1948. They settled in California, where they opened Watson's Hobby Shop and Sporting Goods Store in Moreno Valley; they also ran the local Post Office substation out of their store.
She was a member of the local Women's Club, Garden Club, and PTA.
A few years after she and her husband sold the store, Annemarie decided to go to college, and in 1969 she graduated from the University of California, Riverside, with a degree in German; she went on to earn a secondary teaching credential. She loved teaching, helping her neighbors, and seeing her grandchildren and keeping up with their achievements. She also enjoyed playing chess, swimming, sewing, knitting, and listening to classical music, and was an avid reader.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy (Gurdip) Brar of Middleton; granddaughter Gloria Brar of San Francisco, CA; grandson Victor Brar of Pasadena, CA; and sister Gertud (Pius) Dax of Germany.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Watson, her parents, and her sister Regina Fiehler.
