Rogers, Annette D
Annette (Netta) D. Rogers, age 68, passed away on August 29, 2019, in her home in Madison, WI. She was born on July 15, 1951, to Bert Rogers and Mary Lou Rogers Sherrod. Annette grew up in Madison and Oregon, WI where she attended Oregon High. She then began taking classes at Madison Area Technical College for Marine Biology.
In Madison, Annette owned Jamaica Jo Mama's restaurant, and then began in the late 90's working for Madison Metropolitan School District as a Special Education Assistant where she earned her nickname "Mama".
She also worked for the WI Department of Administration as a Word Processing Supervisor. She worked for WPS as a claim sorter for a couple of years as well. Needless to say, she was a jack of all trades.
Annette married David Goldsby in 1985 in Madison, WI. They met while attending school at Madison Area Technical College where David was a basketball player and Annette a cheerleader. They soon fell in love and later wed. They were married 35 years and raised two children in Madison. Annette loved nature, spending time in her garden, and had a passion for animals. She loved to cook, and even had her own brand of barbeque sauce. Her three dogs Booka Butts, Oracle, Margie and cat Kiki kept her company. Her pets would always warm her heart and bring a smile to her face. Most who knew Annette would say she was the strongest and toughest woman they knew.
Annette is survived by her husband, David Goldsby; and her children David Goldsby of Madison; Taylor Goldsby (Sandra) of Madison. She is also survived by her grandchild, Adrianna Goldsby of Madison; her brothers Harold Rogers (Joyce) of Madison; Bert Rogers, Jr. (Sharon Blazier) of Deming, NM; and sister Toni Rogers (David Kuklenski) of Las Cruces, NM; and her father Bert Rogers and uncle LeRoy Rogers both of Madison.
Annette is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Lou Rogers Sherrod and infant brother Thomas Rogers; her aunts Margaret Rogers; Margaret "Sissy" Rogers; uncle George Rogers; and her grandparents.
