Sun Prairie/ Port Charlotte, Florida - Anthony J. "Tony" Guastella, 91, passed away on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Harbor Terrace Skilled Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, Florida. Tony, formerly of Sun Prairie and Madison, WI has resided in Florida since 2001. Tony was born in Madison, Wisconsin on May 17, 1924. He had worked as a printer all of his adult life until retirement in 2000. He was first employed at Cantwell Printing after returning from the military service. He also worked at Mayland Printing, Royal Printing and Insty- Prints until opening his own business, Tony's Instant Litho Printing, in 1978 where he worked until his retirement. Tony Guastella was married to Elena (Odorico) Guastella who passed away on March 19, 2002. Tony was one of 4 brothers, 2 of whom, Joseph and Russell, precede him in death.
He is survived by his children, Jean ( Nick) Bisenius of Madison, WI, Judy ( Patrick Schaefer) Sweeney of Shoreview, MN and Joseph ( Rochelle) Guastella of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin; grandchildren include Christopher ( Tracy) Bisenius, Matthew ( Dana) Bisenius, Robert ( Tiffany) Bisenius , Ryan Sweeney ( Katie Parker), Tyler Sweeney, Chad ( Elena) Guastella and Jaclyn Guastella; great- grandchildren include Lauren and Ben Bisenius, Max and Lucy Bisenius, Annabelle Bisenius and Giada Guastella. Tony Guastella is survived by his younger brother Charles (Lucille) Of Madison, WI and sister in law Matilda Schuchardt as well as a dear friend, Arlene Fazzino.
Tony was an avid golfer who was active in the development of Sun Prairie Golf Course in its early years. He is well known for his artistic ability as depicted in his numerous wild life paintings. Tony Guastella will be buried next to his loving wife of 55 years at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison, WI.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SACRED HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie on Monday, April 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Chahm Gahng presiding. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please send donations to the UW Carbone Cancer Center/ GI Oncology, Madison, WI or a local hospice of your choice. Final details regarding the date and time of a memorial service will be forthcoming.
