Anthony Jude Hagan Jr. 16, passed away peacefully after a short illness on the morning of April 25, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at the American Family Children’s Hospital, Madison, Wisconsin.
Anthony, fondly known as "Kuuku" by his family, was born on March 8, 2006 in Madison, Wisconsin. He was a calm and gentle little guy. When he suffered a brain injury at birth, the medical team at Meriter Hospital were wary of the quality of life he would live, but his strength and resilience surpassed their expectations. While he was unable to walk nor talk, he was a ray of sunshine with many joys. As a baby, singing would always calm him down, so it was no surprise that as he got older he fell in love with music, especially music by Trombone Shorty. Every time he heard his music, he would smile or watch the video closely with wide eyes filled with fascination.
He loved spending time with his family; enjoyed listening to his younger sister read books to him whilst looking at the pictures, watching sports with dad, watching tv or listening to music with mom, and enjoyed facial treatments with his older sister.
He had such a big and loving personality. Although sassy at times, his voice would fill up a room. Everyone loved being around him, whether it was his doctors, nurses, or his care team, he always managed to put a smile on their faces. Anthony’s life was filled with so much love.
Anthony is survived by his parents: Anthony Sr. and Alberta Hagan, siblings: Margaret and Daniella Hagan, grandparents, uncles, aunties, and cousins.
