Anthony ""Tony"" Zajicek, age 58, formerly of Madison and Middleton, died Friday, June 3, 2011 in the home of his brother, Richard in Rockford, Ill.
Tony was born July 22, 1952 in Richland Center, the son of Paul H. and Marlys (Fosnow) Zajicek. He was a former member of St. Bernard and St. Patrick Church, attending both schools. He graduated from Madison East High School in 1970. While in high school he worked in a key shop and became a certified locksmith. Tony then worked at UW-Superior as a facilities repair worker, transferring to a locksmith position two years later at UW-Madison. He subsequently worked for Fish Building Materials for a number of years.
His interests included deer hunting, the outdoors, coin collecting, junking, puzzles of all kinds being exceptionally proficient at three dimensional and crossword puzzles. He had an avid interest that he acquired from his father and shared with his children participating in the Warrens Black Powder Gun Club shoots. He was an active co-leader in Boy Scouts for many years. He was always willing to help a friend in need. His endearing sense of humor and laughter will be fondly remembered. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his children; Amanda of Fort Collins, Colo., and Steven of Madison and their mother, Beth of Madison; his parents Paul and Marlys Zajicek, formerly of Madison and Avoca, now of Iowa City, Iowa; his brother, Richard of Rockford, Ill.; his sister, Judy (Mark) Madsen of Iowa City, Iowa and their children, Thomas of Berkeley, Calif. and Heidi of Iowa City, Iowa.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 14, 2011 from 4:00-6:00 p. m. followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 p. m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 6021 University Ave.
