MIDDLETON - Arlene F. Richgels, age 88, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital. Arlene was born July 16, 1925 to James and Frances (Lind) Foley. She was united in marriage to Raymond J. Richgels, and he preceded her in death in 1980.
Arlene was a homemaker and worked as a waitress at Rennebohm's, the Colonial Bakery, and Donut Land. She and Ray spent many weekends at their summer home in Prairie Du Chien and Bagley. Arlene enjoyed spending her free time with family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and visiting family in Janesville.
Arlene was a volunteer ride coordinator for the Senior Center in Middleton. She was skilled at crafting, and enjoyed golf, shopping, and gardening. She liked to spend her quiet time reading. She recently resided at Heritage Assisted Living in Middleton.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Jim) Hellenbrand; grandchildren, Jennifer "Jenny Wren" Hellenbrand, Julie (Tom) Grotophorst; and great-grandchildren, Larissa and Trevor "My little boy". She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her brother, Pat; and sister, Elizabeth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2015 Parmenter Street, Middleton with Msgr. Douglas L. Dushack presiding. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at church.
