Madison -- Arlys Wahl, age 68, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family at HospiceCare, Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 4, 1942, the daughter of Ernest and Lydia Hall. Arlys graduated from Glenwood City High School and later worked as a Nursing Assistant before moving to Madison. She then worked as a greeter at the Wal-Mart West until retiring. She was united in marriage to Robert Wahl Sr. In addition to being a great mother and raising two children after the death of her husband, Arlys loved to spend time with her children, travel and work with her flowers every summer. Arlys is survived by her son, Robert; and daughter, Tina. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; brother-in-law, Fred; and sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Lorraine. Funeral services for Arlys will be held Friday, Nov. 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Cleary and Dr. Rasmussen, UW Carbone Cancer Center, HospiceCare, Inc. and all the Hospice nurses for their kindness and compassion. We would also like to thank Hospice nurses, Donna and Gloria, for your assistance with our mother at our home, as well as Jackie and Ann for all their support.
