Armond M Gower of Madison, WI, passed away on 2 Dec ‘24. He was the son of Arthur and Myrtle Gower of Black River Falls, WI. He put a lot of living in his 92 years. He was an Aircraft Instruments Mechanic and served his country with distinction in the Air Force for 20 years, serving abroad in Korea, Vietnam, and the Philippines, as well as, throughout the United States, retiring in 1971.
He retired from the Postal Service in 1997 after 25 years of service as an Equipment Mechanic. He married Donna Pierce in 1952. They traveled abroad extensively on 6 continents with their oldest daughter Karen and her husband John. They also enjoyed traveling around the United States visiting their 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife, Donna, of 67 yrs. He is survived by his five children; Karen Beam of Las Vegas, NV; Richard Gower of Cottage Grove, WI; Greg Gower of San Diego, CA; Bryan Gower of St Augustine, FL; and Darla Gower of Jupiter, FL, and his siblings Donna Squires and Sonja Moe.
He was predeceased by his brothers Dennis and Wayne.
Visitation will be Thursday, 12 Dec ’24 from 4-7 p.m. at Cress Funeral Home, 3325 E. Washington Ave, Madison. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, 13 Dec ‘24, at St Peter’s Catholic Church, 5001 North Sherman Ave., Madison, with a visitation at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services, with a meal to follow. Armond will be laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, with full Military Honors.
