Stoughton- Arnold (Arnie) Bennett Anderson of Stoughton, passed away peacefully on his farm surrounded by his loving family on August 30, 2011, after a brief, courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 3, 1929 in Stoughton, son of Alfred C. and Selma (Lund) Anderson. He married June Johnson on November 24, 1951. They would have celebrated 60 years of marriage this November 24th. Arnie served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951 to 1953. He was a member First Lutheran Church and the Stoughton VFW. He worked at Fisher Body in Janesville for five years and for the Town of Dunkirk for thirty-three years. In 1962 Arnie and June purchased their farm in the town of Dunkirk where they farmed together for over forty years. Arnie was devoted to his family, friends and farm. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone. He is survived by his wife, three daughters Linda, Laurie (Tom) and Janice; seven grandchildren; Melissa, Joe, Kelsi, Kaitlin (Randy), Ian (Dominique), Kiersten and Nicaela; two great grandsons, who worshipped him, Keagan Lee and Jett Bennett, sisters, Bernice Olson, Joan Demrow, Jean Reily; also, a very good friend of the family, Tracey Scott Haig. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Robert and LeRoy, his sister, Anna Mae (Teubert), , and an infant sister, Ruth Marie. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at First Lutheran Church, 310 E. Washington St., Stoughton with the Rev. Richard Halom officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Lutheran Cemetery South. Visitation also will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 am until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to HospiceCare, Inc.
