Arnold ""Arnie"" Duane Halverson went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 28, 2009, surrounded by his family at Meriter Hospital.  Arnold was born in Stoughton on June 10, 1936 the son of the late Gilbert and Grace (Johnson) Halverson.  He graduated from Stoughton High School before joining the Navy in 1956.  On March 26, 1957 he married Judith Ann (Havey/Huppert) at McFarland Lutheran Church.  He was raised on the Family Homestead and later built a house for his family on part of that land.  Arnie had a lifelong career as a Truck Driver, starting at Bulk Transportation then onto Gateway and retiring with Forway. Arnie enjoyed being an understanding father and grandfather. Spending time with his grandkids brought him the most joy.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.   Arnie is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Judy; three children, Debi (Dan) Hayden of Edgerton, Sharon (Tim) Zak of Milwaukee and Steve (Rhonda) Halverson of Madison; grandchildren, Joe and Angie Humphrey, Randee and Christopher Prather, and Hunter and Ally Halverson; two great-grandchildren, Katrina and Bryley; and one brother, Jim ( Sharon) Halverson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Grace; and brother, Gerald Halverson.  Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at Olson-Holzhuter-Cress Funeral Home, 5801 Hwy 51, McFarland with Rev.
