Arnold "Arnie" Walter Schulz

Passed away at his home on the lake on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. He was born on June 25, 1960, in Columbus, WI, son of Herbert and Betty (Marten) Schulz.

Arnie graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1978. He served in the US Army as a 12-B Combat Engineer. He was united in marriage to Deanna (Mack) in 1987. Arnie was employed at Struck & Irwin Fence in Madison and then as a city letter carrier for the USPS at the Capital Station in Madison. He was a fan of UW Badger hockey, NASCAR and football. He loved throwing darts, cooking, hosting parties, fishing, gardening, and music. He enjoyed his time at the lake with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Deanna; his children, Thomas (Amanda) Schulz of Columbus, WI, and Valerie Schulz of Roseville, MN; grandpuppy, Ole, and grandkitty, Kevin; father, Herbert Schulz; siblings, Vicky (John) Turgeon, Robert (Jen) Schulz, Randy (fiancée Deanna Miller) Schulz, Jennifer (Randy) Roever; father-in-law, Kenneth Mack; father-in-law, Ronald Rebholz; and sister-in-law, Kristy (Darrian) Dalangini; along with many other loving family members.

Arnie was preceded in death by his mother, Betty; grandparents, Walter and Augusta (Yerges) Schulz, Arnold Marten and Arthur and Dorothy (Kleinschmidt) Meyer; and mother-in-law, Kathleen (Stick) Rebholz.

A visitation will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, on Sunday, October 29, 2017 from 2:00pm until 6:00pm. The funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 812 Western Avenue, Columbus, on Monday, October 30, 2017. Visitation before the funeral service will be from 10am until 12pm. The service will begin at 12pm. Pastor Robert Wilke and Pastor Andrew Schmidt will be officiating.

In honor of Arnie, we as a family ask that you use your life to be honorable, compassionate and bring joy to others the way he did.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at both UW Carbone Cancer Center and Agrace HospiceCare.
