Arthur Blakely

McFarland/Madison- Arthur L. Blakely, age 58, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was born in McFarland on March 16, 1959, the son of Norman "Hale" and Betty Blakely. Art graduated from McFarland High School in 1977. He earned his Associates degree in Automotive from Madison College. Art completed his Bachelor's degree in Engineering in 2002. On March 16, 1983 he married Sandra Kay Miller. Art's passion was his cars and racing at area establishments. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Art is survived by his wife of 34 years, Sandy; three children, Cynthia (Chris) Kauten, Maggie (Ken) Ring, and Timothy Blakely; three grandchildren, David Kauten, Landon and Misha Ring; four siblings, Rose Blakely, Linda (Bruce) Arendsee, Elaine Blakely and Chuck Blakely; many extended family; and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Samantha Ring; sister, Elizabeth Campbell; half brother, Clarence Colvin; and sister-in-law, Vicki Blakely. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Cress Funeral Home in McFarland. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. A luncheon reception will follow. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of services Thursday at Cress. A special thank you to the McFarland first responders, EMS, Police and Fire, and to Ed Folger for his care and concern. Please share your memories of Art.
