At the UW, Art met the love of his life, Carol Edna Feathers from Belmont, WI. Their wedding was on December 23, 1952.
Upon completion of their baccalaureate degrees, Art and Carol lived in Williamsburg, VA during his two-year tour of duty as an army officer at Fort Eustis during the Korean Conflict. They moved to Wauwatosa, WI after the birth of their children, Lynne in 1961 and Thomas in 1962. Art and Carol made family a priority. The family later moved to Oconomowoc, WI where Art practiced law, eventually opening his own firm. Art found his calling as an attorney. He also served as president of the congregation of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc.
Retirement permitted extensive foreign and domestic travel for Art and Carol. Art was a life-long Green Bay Packer and Wisconsin Badger football fan, watching and analyzing many football games with his son Thomas and other family members. Art enjoyed golfing, tennis and walking his neighbor’s dogs.
