Artie Robersen leaves a legacy of courage, laughter, passion, and love for everyone who knew her. Artie died on January 18 at Agrace HospiceCare, Fitchburg. She was born on April 28, 1946, in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of Arthur Languette. In 1970, she married Bill Robersen, her partner in life for more than 40 years, in Cape Elizabeth, Maine.
Artie graduated from the University of Maine and received her Master's from Harvard. She made her way in a man's world, holding executive positions with non-profit and government agencies including the Milwaukee County Medical Center, the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industry, St. Louis Community College, and Abbington Friends School in Philadelphia. She also served as Town Manager in Bedford, NH.
Artie was very proud of her Native American heritage and very honored to be the maid of honor in the wedding of her friend Tabitha King to author Stephen King. She enjoyed her dogs, bird watching, traveling, and creating crafts.
She is survived by her husband Bill and family and friends from coast to coast. A private Celebration of Artie's Life will be held at a later date.
