Audrey Powers

Sun Prairie - Audrey C. Powers, age 93, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, September 29, 2014. She was born July 6, 1921 in Sun Prairie, daughter to Leo and Catherine (Duschak) Weisensel. She was united in marriage to Francis Powers on February 1, 1947 in Sun Prairie. Audrey attended Sacred Hearts Catholic School and then graduated from Sun Prairie High School in 1939. Audrey worked as office manager for a radio station and then later retired from JC Penney. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, gardening and crossword puzzles. Audrey also loved spending time with her family and also loved the Packers. Audrey was a lifetime member of Sacred Hearts Catholic Church.

Audrey is survived by her son, Don (Laurie) of Sun Prairie; grandchildren, Kelly Powers of Willmar, MN and David (Holly) Powers of Lakewood, Washington; great grandchildren, Abigail, Fiona and Theo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis and daughter, Mary Powers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30am, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Catholic Church, 221 Columbus Street, Sun Prairie with Monsignor Duane Mollenberndt presiding. Visitation will be held from 10:30am until time of mass at church. Burial will follow at Sacred Hearts Catholic Cemetery.
