Austin Mcguire

May 4, 1993 — May 6, 2022

Stoughton

Austin James McGuire, 29, of Stoughton, passed away on Friday, May 6th, 2022 in a motor vehicle accident.

Austin was born on May 4th, 1993 to Dan and Cyndi McGuire in Madison, WI.  He graduated from Stoughton High School in 2011.  Austin was known to be adventurous during his teenage years. He went on to work at UW Health in November of 2011.  Austin started in Culinary Services and recently transitioned to the Culinary Call Center. He started taking online courses through Madison College for Information Technology.

Austin met his wife, Kaitlyn, at Stoughton High School in cooking class in 2010. They hit it off and ended up having their first son, Isaak, in September of 2011. They moved in together and started figuring out their new little life as a family. In 2014, Austin popped the question and they got married a year later in Vegas. Their second son, Ian, was born in June of 2016. They had a goal of purchasing Kaitlyn’s grandparents house. They made that goal a reality in 2019.

Austin enjoyed anything outdoors, especially fishing. He had a very creative mind and was always thinking of things he could build or create.  Austin enjoyed sports, especially the Minnesota Vikings. He had many talents; cooking, guitar and even “gardening” to name a few. He encouraged his boys to participate in sports and enjoyed volunteering at practices. Austin loved taking his boys fishing, bowling, swimming and anything to do with the outdoors. He was always willing to help with his Dad’s never ending projects and enjoyed the strong bond they continued to have. Austin looked forward to his yearly camping trips with his brother Justin. He enjoyed his daily talks with his sister, Kristin, whom he worked with at UW Health. Austin and his father-in-law, Dave, also had many good “life talks”. He also had a very special bond with his brother-in-law, Austin Sobojinski.

Austin is survived by his wife, Kaitlyn McGuire; their sons, Isaak and Ian McGuire; parents, Dan and Cyndi McGuire; brother, Justin (Mandy) McGuire and nieces, Madeline and Josephine; sister, Kristin (Andy) Boettcher and nephews, Jacob and Franklin and niece, Eleanor; grandparents, Edward and Ella McGuire; mother and father-in-law, Dave and Michelle Sobojinski; brother and sister-in-law, Austin (Taylor) Sobojinski. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Austin was preceded in death by grandparents, Lucy and Richard Dolan; and uncles, Anthony McGuire, Lawrence McGuire and Scott Dolan.
