Barbara Lasek

Barbara Lasek, age 62 of McFarland passed away on June 12, 2014 at Agrace Hospice Care.

Barb was a free spirit. After graduating from Plymouth High School in 1970 she became a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant at MATC. She worked in the field for awhile before branching out to other jobs sufficient to allow her to take long vacations in the north woods. She settled into State employment in Unemployment Insurance, Safety and Buildings, and the Commerce Department.

In her free time she did respite care with handicapped children, practiced martial arts, bow hunted, picked wild mushrooms, golfed, and hung out with friends.
After retiring, she worked as the "cat lady" at Remember Me Ranch and fostered orphaned baby squirrels.

She is survived by her mother, Helen Horneck, sisters Shirley (Bryan) Herman and Phyllis (David) Lee, brothers Wayne Lasek and Edward (Julie) Lasek, and other family members.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday June 21, 2014 at Cress Funeral Home in McFarland. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Saturday.
