Barbara Legrand

May 23, 1944 — July 23, 2014

Deerfield- On Wednesday, July 23, 2014 we lost our beloved Wife, Mother and Grandma. A gentle soul that was loved by many and adored by all. Barbara LeGrand went peacefully with her husband of 51 years by her side to "Walk the Last Mile Together." Barbara was born on May 23, 1944 in Macon, GA to the late EA and Bernice Cranford. She was the youngest of 3 children. Barbara met her future husband, Keith, on September 19, 1962 and they married the next January 6, 1963. Together they raised 7 children with 18 grandchildren. Barbara, Bobbi to her co-workers, was employed at Wisconsin Department of Revenue for over 20 years and retired in December 2012. She was an avid gardener and loved her birds, especially Cardinals. Barbara will be remembered for her outgoing and kind personality, with a smile that would light up any room. She was a great teacher of life's story and left her legacy of humility and compassion for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to follow. She is lovingly survived by her husband, Keith; children, Keith (Sue) LeGrand of Brandon, Cathy (Tim) Wilkinson of Mazomanie, Kelly LeGrand (Kirk Jones) of Madison, Clint (Amy) LeGrand of Evansville, Kimberly LeGrand (Bobby Peck) of Marshall, Aimee LeGrand of Middleton, and Rachel (Shawn) Martin of Platteville; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Dakota, Jacob, Sierra, Taylor and Carsen LeGrand, Donna (David) Gates, Jennifer (Brian Pohlman) and Holly Wilkinson, Kaprise and Kevyn Jones, Hunter, Treyden and Mason Hewuse, Samantha and Jesse Martin, and beloved granddog, Duchess. Barbara also leaves behind 2 great-grandchildren, Cassidy and Clayton Gates. She was preceded in death by her parents, EA and Bernice (Pritchett) Cranford; two brothers, Raymond and James Cranford; Mother and Father-in-law and 2 grandchildren, Kylie Jones and Ryan Martin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 28, 2014 at Cress Funeral Home in Stoughton. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends and relatives are invited to a luncheon afterward at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Hall in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Monday. Barbara enjoyed being comfortable and would like everyone attending to wear comfortable attire. Please share your memories.
