Barbara passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, May 3rd at her home at The Heritage, Middleton.
Barbara was known for her deep faith and love of family. She was an accomplished knitter, cook and baker, and lavished those gifts on family and friends. Sharing her faith was deeply important throughout her adult life and she worked to bring numerous church renewal and non-denominational ministries to Wisconsin, including Faith at Work, Young Life and The Real Woman seminars. Barbara was actively involved within her church, Asbury United Methodist, and in the 1980’s served as chairperson of the Evangelism Committee for eight productive years.
Barbara was a faithful wife, mother, grand and great-grandmother who will be profoundly missed. She is survived by her husband of seventy-four years, Roger “Bucky” Lippitt, her children: Kathleen Cabrices (Angel), John (Judy VanKirk), Paul (Joann) and Linda Brick (Steve) as well as fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Roger Jr., daughter-in-law Martha and son-in-law Jerry Matts.
A funeral service for Barbara will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 9th at Asbury Church, 6101 University Ave. Madison, Wisconsin. A visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service, with a luncheon to follow. Barbara will be laid to rest at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Barbara’s family would like to thank Nikki Perkins, Mary Jo Coppernoll and their team from Agrace Hospice, as well as Megan Sutton, Kristina Turk and all the other Heritage staff who cared for Mom in her last days. Through your work, we were blessed.
