Madison - Barbara M. Wolff, age 65, passed away on Friday, June 1, 2012 at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. She was born on October 30, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Jack and Anne (Doberstein) West. Barbara grew up in Oak Lawn, Illinois, and graduated from high school in 1964 from Academy of Our Lady. In 1969 she graduated from Edgewood College in Madison with a business degree. She was married to James A. Wolff II on August 9, 1969. After 2 years in Friedberg, Germany they settled in Madison and raised their family. Barbara was actively involved in Girl Scouts, Drum Corps and camping with her daughters and her beagle. She sang in the Queen of Peace adult choir for over 20 years. Her hobbies included sewing, computers, and music.
Barbara was the administrator at NAMI of Dane County for the last 14 years and chairperson for the NAMI Walk. She also participated in online scoring with the Educational Testing Service. Her prior employers were Gordon Flesch, YMCA, and Northwest Fabrics.
Survivors include her husband, Jim Wolff; her daughters, Tricia (Carl) Blomquist, Michelle (John) Findlay, and Amy Wolff; grandchildren, Nikole and Emily Blomquist and Camden and Cooper Findlay; a sister, Joan (Jim) Jennette; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at OUR LADY QUEEN OF PEACE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 401 S. Owen Dr., Madison, on Thursday, June 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Father John Nellissery presiding. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Madison. A visitation will be held at CRESS FUNERAL HOME, 3610 Speedway Road, Madison, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. and at church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the mass.
