Beatrice G King

Madison-Beatrice G. King, age 96, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2009.  Beatrice was born on July 14, 1912 in Evanston, IL, the daughter of Eno C. and Mary (George) Bachechi, Italian immigrants.  She was married to James Smith who preceded her in death in 1946 and later married G. Willard King who preceded her in death in 2007. Beatrice was a longtime WI resident and also lived for a period of time in Lake Tavares, FL.  She was a very active, healthy lady who enjoyed playing tennis, swimming, fishing, walking, nature, especially the woods and lived independently all her life.  Beatrice also enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and flowers.  She was an amazing baker and cook and a hospitable entertainer.  Beatrice was also very talented at knitting sweaters and doing crafts.  She took a refresher class in Italian a few years ago. Beatrice is survived by her sons James (Judy) Smith of Lakeland, FL and Dennis King of Madison; stepson James King of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren Hollie Brown, Jeanine King, Scott King and Jennifer Smith; 5 great-grandchildren; other family and friends.
