MADISON – Beatrix Rose Fleer, age 95, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 8, 2024, at All Saints Memory Care.
Born on November 20, 1928, in Aberdeen, Scotland, Beatrix is the daughter of Thomas and Annie Finlayson Clarkson. She met the love of her life, Paul Fleer while he was serving in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and stationed in Northern England. Upon returning to the states, they were married in Caldwell, New Jersey, on February 15, 1947. Paul and Bea settled in Madison, Wisconsin in the 1960s and were happily married for 73 years. They shared a love of the outdoors with their family, which including camping, hiking, canoeing and biking. Over the years, the family traveled extensively, including to all fifty states, Canada and the US Virgin Islands.
Those who knew Beatrix were always treated to her kindness and gentle ways, to say nothing of her wonderful sense of humor. Her passion for family and homemaking were always center stage. She had many natural gifts including home decorating, gardening and was an accomplished cook. Bea also had a lovely voice and sang until her final days.
Thank you to the excellent staff at All Saints Memory Care. They provided Beatrix with an active life filled with love and uncompromised care.
