Benjamin Mullan Boyles

December 31, 1987 — September 4, 2023

Benjamin Mullan Boyles, born on December 31, 1987, passed from our lives on September 4, 2023, following a swift illness.  Ben was first and foremost a dedicated, loving father to Brantley Padraig-David and Makennah Faye Boyles, best friends with their children’s mother Amanda Boyles, and precious son to David Boyles and Diane Mullan Benjamin.  Ben loved and admired his brother Stefan Boyles and sister-in-law Kristin, and his brother Fidencio Campos III, who preceded Ben in death. He cherished the bonds he had with brothers-in-law Nick and Nate Waid and sister-in-law Ashley Waid.  He was an adoring and always smiling Uncle Ben to Keaton and Emmett Boyles, to Bethany and Eugene Waid, and to Sylas Fowler.  Ben treasured his Irish heritage which inspired in him a true reverence for family.  He held all in his large, extended Mullan family, the Boyles family, and in the Waid family in abiding affection.

Ben took pride in the company where he worked, Charter Next Generation, and in the contributions that he made there; he genuinely appreciated the job and his coworkers.  He loved country music and road trips with his family.  Ben had a lifelong passion for sports, instilled in him by his father, that he shared with friends and family at Brewer and Packer games, playing fantasy football and listening to sport podcasts, and attending Packer Family Night with his children, as he had with his dad.

Ben was a man of thoughtful character who, by nature, put others first with his sunny smile and joyful spirit.  As brother Stefan said to Ben, “You are one of the strongest people I know; not this kind of strong - touching his bicep, but this kind of strong - touching his heart.” Through this mercifully-swift illness Ben stayed steadfastly positive and never felt sorry for himself; through it all, first and last, he kept his joy and his heart turned to his dearest treasures, Brantley and Makennah.

On behalf of Ben, we wish to express our deepest gratitude for the compassion, dedication, and talent of those who provided his care at UW Hospital, St Mary’s Hospital, and at Turville Bay Radiation Oncology Center.

For those who might choose to honor Ben’s memory in this way, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Benjamin’s name to UW Neuro-Oncology Brain Tumor Research (https://secure.supportuw.org/give/?id=67ff7909-a1b7-4cd8-bd97-2631a682f02b ).
